The grace of God

Is there anything more greater in this world other than the grace of god?
“I found that whatever truth I had read [in the Platonists] was [in the writings of Paul] combined with the exaltation of thy grace.”
           - Saint Augustine

The teachings of Paul of Tarsus was ground breaking at that time and they are still earth shaking transformational ideas for this modern age. The truth that our salvation is not in our hands and that we are saved not by doing good deeds but by a predestined election by God.

Most people do not realize that these teachings are very similar to the karma yoga of Bhagvad Gita where in it states that we should not expect the fruits of our actions because work has been given free to us and it is God himself who is stimulating our thoughts and doing all the works in the world. So where then is boasting? When we are not even the doer of our actions then why should we expect to receive the fruits of those actions? The glory of our works and achievements should go to God because it is he who is in everyone and doing all the activities of the cosmos.

We are no where in this world picture. Ego is God who controls the intellect and our thoughts. The intellect controls the mind and the mind controls the brain and the brain controls the body. That's how the flow of action is. Where am I in this world picture? Who am I? The I is the soul who passively experiences these playful activities of the gods. The only way to escape from this mortal world is through the grace of God. He has to give permission and let you go. You cannot win that grace of god by doing charity and other good deeds. No amount of good deeds will ensure a place in heaven and immortality for you. This is the bitter truth.

I for one have experienced the grace of god working through out my life and I consider myself very lucky to have received this knowledge and all the pleasures of the world from him. I must say right from my childhood up until now I have led a life without any hardship. My grand father was a police man and he used to bring me whatever I asked for whether its toys, cars, pigeons or German Shepherds etc and by the time when my cousins were born he was happily retired a privilege which they didn't enjoy. I never knew about Valentinus but god introduced his works to me. We never thought we would be building such a big house but it turned out to be such. Its as though I was predestined to know it and have it. The end goal of all these teachings is to take us away from the life of birth and death towards the immortality of the soul which is what we call as redemption.

False portrayal of Aryan religion in Western countries

When I was in Dallas last month I visited the Dallas Museum of Art and I felt very bad when I saw what they had written about Hinduism at the South East Asian Art section. According to them Aryans were nomadic warriors who came down from the northwestern regions who carried horses and chariots with them and these Aryans were in battle with the local Dravidian race who were ethnically black compared to the Aryans. So Hinduism emerged as a by product fusing Vedic religion brought to India by the Aryans and the local religion of the Dravidians.

This absolutely false portrayal of history of India is an huge intellectual dishonesty on the part of the western academia. Its an hidden agenda to make what belonged to us a foreign entity. When you portray something as foreign it completely loses its nativity and hence people start looking at it in an entirely different intellectual sphere and the reason why majority of the Americans are more interested in learning Egyptian culture rather than the Aryan.

"Indo-Aryan Migration into India, c. 1750 B.C. This map shows the general route taken by the Indo-Aryans who migrated into India beginning around 1750 B.C. They were nomadic warriors who came from the Plateau of Iran and moved through the Hindu Kush Mountains into the Indus Valley and beyond to the Ganges Valley. With them they brought bronze weapons, horses, and chariots."
David Frawley is right if we don't question this seriously it will be a self betrayal on our part. When we chant the Vedas it does not look foreign to us it feels as though it is written in our blood. It is the English language and culture which looks so alien and foreign to us.

Of all the fabulous art which I saw one special art caught my attention and it was the sculpture of my god King Helios.

Hinduism is as misogynistic as Christianity and Islam

Yajnavalkya Upanishad

13. (If an ascetic is convinced that) the supreme God has entered into beings as the individual Self, then he may fully prostrate on the ground before dog, outcaste, cow or donkey.

14. What possibly is charming in a woman who is a doll made of flesh, in a cage of limbs which is moved by machinery and who is a conglomerate of tendons bones and joints ?

15. Are the eyes (of a woman) charming when we look at them after dissection into skin, flesh, blood and tears ? Why then do you get infatuated in vain ?

16. Similarly, Oh sage, is seen of the pearl necklace which shines bright (adoring women) in the onrush of the Ganga water down the shining slopes of the Meru mountain.

17. In cemeteries (situated) in remote places the same breast of a woman is eaten in due course by dogs as if it were a small morsel of food.

18. Having (attractive) tresses and putting on collyrium, women, difficult to touch but pleasing to the eyes are (verily) the flames of the fire of sin and they burn men as though they were straw.

19. Women pleasing and cruel, are the fuel for the hell-fires, that inflame even at a distance and though juicy (loveable) are devoid of moisture (flavour).

20. Silly women are the nets spread by the hunter called Cupid to entangle the bodies of men in the form of birds.

21. Woman is the bait stuck in the fish-hook at the string of evil propensity to catch men in the form of fish that are in the pond of worldly life and that are active in the mud of the mind.

22. Enough of women to me, forever, who are the strong caskets (to preserve) all gems of evil and are the chains of misery.

23. He who has a woman with him has desire for enjoyment; where is the scope for enjoyment to one who is without woman ? Discarding woman is discarding worldly life; one shall be happy after abandoning worldly life.

24. A son unborn worries the (would be) parents for long; when obtained (in the womb) he gives trouble due to miscarriage or the pangs of child-birth.

25. When the boy is born there is the worry of evil planes, illness, etc., and then his propensity to evil ways. When invested with the sacred thread he does not become learned and if he becomes wise he refuses marriage.

26. In youth he takes to adultery, etc., and has (the curse of) poverty when he has a family. There is no end of worry due to a son and if he is rich he (suddenly) may die.

27. The (good) ascetic has no fickleness of hands and feet; he is not unsteady in his eyes and he is not loose with his speech; conquering his senses he becomes one with Brahman.

28. When a person of discrimination sees equality and oneness between an enemy, a prisoner and his own body, where is (the scope for) anger, as towards the limbs of one’s own body ?

29. If you have any anger against a wrong doer, how is it you do not have anger against anger, as it forcibly blocks (the path to) duty, wealth, love and liberation ?

30. My salutation to the anger against anger, which well sets ablaze its substratum and which gives one dispassion and awakens one to one’s faults.

31. Where the people are always asleep the man of self-control is wide awake; where they are vigilant, Oh wise one, the prince among the Yogins, is in deep sleep. Be convinced that there is consciousness here, that (all) this is consciousness alone and is pervaded by consciousness, that you are consciousness and I am consciousness, and all these worlds are of consciousness.

32. Ascetics should accept this, the highest position of being a Paramahamsa. Oh best of sages, there is nothing higher than this.
Thus (ends) the Upanishad.

The seer of the Upanishad is quite right in saying that there is no scope for enjoyment without women and that only by renouncing women one will renounce worldly life which is very true. There is really no scope for enjoyment in life without women no matter what other things in life brings joy to you which are not anything like the joy of a woman.

The Upanishad treats women as evil beings who bring misery to men and advice men to completely avoid them by encouraging men to practice celibacy or Sanyas.

All women Sanyasins must be treated as prostitutes because there is no Sanyas for women in Hinduism.

I am not saying this, in fact this was said by Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISCKON who is quite right when viewed from a traditional point of view because there is no Sanyas for women in Hinduism. So all women who have taken up Sanyas must be treated as prostitutes and no respect should be given to them at all.

Shrila Prabhupada comments on Women Sannyasinis: 1.
San Francisco 14th March, 1967
My Dear Brahmananda,
...A female is never awarded the order of Sannyasam. Because a female is never considered independent and Sannyasam was never awarded to any female in the past by the great Acharyas like Samkara, Ramanuja, etc. The female Sannyasins are to be immediately understood as pretenders or prostitutes. In India they have organised so many organisations where specially young females are maintained to attract rich women-hunters who pretend to pose as righteous in the society. This is the age of Kali which plunders away spiritual sense of the human being and it is only the Divine Grace of Lord Chaitanya Who can protect us from all these dangerous pitfalls....
Srila Prabhupada is quite right because even Yajnavalkya never awarded Sanyas to females and it is against the Vedic tradition. Given the case that we all know what happens to these women who are sexually abused by false Godmen in their ashrams wasn't the tradition right in denying Sanyas for women?

But some doesn't want to accept this, they want to falsely portray to the whole world that Hinduism is not misogynistic and that it is quite superior in treating women compared to Christianity and Islam. Some are embarrassed to accept these misogynistic elements in Hinduism. Well whatever it is, the fact is that there is no Sanyas for women in Hinduism and all women sanyasins should be immediately treated as prostitutes and Hinduism is indeed misogynistic and there is nothing to be embarrassed about it.

Jain Digambaras reject salvation for women who believe that women are evil and shallow creatures and think that they have received a women body because of their past sins. According to them all women have to be reborn as men to receive salvation.

Therefore the eastern religions are as misogynistic as the Abrahamic ones.

Vedas are indigenous to India

"And what your European pundits say about the Aryans swooping down from some foreign land, snatching away the lands of the aborigines and settling in India by exterminating them, is all pure nonsense, foolish talk! In what Veda, in what Sukta do you find that the Aryans came into India from a foreign country? Where do you get the idea that they slaughtered the wild aborigines? What do you gain by talking such nonsense? Strange that our Indian scholars, too, say amen to them; and all these monstrous lies are being taught to our boys!... Whenever the Europeans find an opportunity, they exterminate the aborigines and settle down with ease and comfort on their lands; and therefore they think the Aryans must have done the same!... But where is your proof? Guess work? Then keep your fanciful ideas to yourself. I strongly protested against these ideas at the Paris Congress. I have been talking with the Indian and European savants on the subject, and hope to raise many objections to this theory in detail, when time permits. And this I say to you–to our pundits–also, ‘You are learned men, hunt up your old books and scriptures, please, and draw your own conclusions.’"

- Swami Vivekananda

Professor Nicholas Kazanas statements are correct even though his understanding of the Vedic texts are not up to the mark with the more esoteric genuine interpretations of the traditional Indian Scholars. He is absolutely right when he said that I got interested in the Upanishads but later I found out that what was there in the Upanishads existed in the Vedas too. What most people fail to understand is that Upanishads are not the end of the Vedas and the start of a new period where they somehow throw away the rituals and gods in the Vedas and turn towards a more rational philosophical approach to the divine instead Upanishads are the ending message of the Vedas. Both the Vedas(rituals and gods) and the Upanishads should be taken together in a full context only then you will really understand the true doctrine of our ancients.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

III-ix-1: Then Vidagdha, the son of Sakala, asked him. ‘How many gods are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ Yajnavalkya decided it through this (group of Mantras known as) Nivid (saying), ‘As many as are indicated in the Nivid of the Visvadevas – three hundred and three, and three thousand and three’. ‘Very well’, said Sakalya, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘Thirty-three’. ‘Very well’, said the other, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘six’. ‘Very well’, said Sakalya, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘Three’. ‘Very well’, said the other, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘Two’. ‘Very well’, said Sakalya, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘One and a half’. ‘Very well’, said Sakalya, ‘how many gods exactly are there, Yajnavalkya ?’ ‘One’. ‘Very well’, said Sakalya, ‘which are those three hundred and three and three thousand and three ?’

III-ix-2: Yajnavalkya said, ‘these are but the manifestation of them, but there are only thirty-three gods.’ ‘Which are those thirty-three ?’ ‘The eight Vasus, the eleven Rudras and the twelve Adityas – these are thirty-one and Indra and Prajapati make up the thirty-three’.

III-ix-3: ‘Which are the Vasus /’ ‘Fire, the earth, air, the sky, the sun, heaven, the moon and the stars – these are the Vasus, for in these all this is placed; therefore they are called Vasus.’

III-ix-4: ‘Which are the Rudras ?’ ‘The ten organs in the human body, with the mind as the eleventh. When they depart from this mortal body, they make (one’s relatives) weep. Because they then make them weep, therefore they are called Rudras.’

III-ix-5: ‘Which are the Adityas ?’ ‘The twelve months (are parts) of a year; these are the Adityas, for they go taking all this with them. Because they go taking all this with them, therefore they are called Adityas.’

III-ix-6: ‘Which is Indra, and which is Prajapati ?’ ‘The cloud itself is Indra, and the sacrifice is Prajapati’. ‘Which is the cloud ?’ ‘Thunder (strength).’ ‘Which is the sacrifice ?’ ‘Animals’.

III-ix-7: ‘Which are the six (gods) ?’ ‘Fire, the earth, air, the sky, the sun, and heaven – these are the six. Because all those (gods) are (comprised in) these six.’

III-ix-8: ‘Which are the three gods ?’ ‘These three worlds alone, because in these all those gods are comprised.’ ‘Which are the two gods ?’ ‘Matter and the vital force.’ ‘Which are the one and a half ?’ ‘This (air) that blows.’

III-ix-9: ‘Regarding this some say, ‘Since the air blows as one substance, how can it be one and a half ?’ ‘ It is one and a half because through its presence all this attains surpassing glory’. ‘Which is the one god ?’ ‘The vital force (Hiranyagarbha); it is Brahman, which is called Tyat (that).’

These gods should not be confused with the forces of nature instead they are anthropomorphic beings who exist in the Pleroma and this world is just a shadow image of the real things, the thing in itself that exists in the Pleroma or the Agnisoma Mandala. There are two ways to percieve this universe one is Bahirmukh and the other one is Antharmukh. Bahirmukh is the normal perception, this is the world as it appears to us, the world of phenomena, the world of science and Antharmukh is the world as it really exists independent of us, the thing in itself, the world of noumena. Let's keep science and religion separate, science is one thing and religion is another do not get confused with both of them.

The first thing that is taught in the Upanishads is this to understand the difference between Bahirmukh and Anthurmukh and only after you have attained the ability to perceive the world by being Antharmukh you will have the authority to study the next stage of philosophical scriptures. Only such persons are true philosophers because they know the things as it exists and not how it appears to us and when we ask what is this world made of they will not quarrel among themselves as the world is made of this or that, they will firmly assert that the world is made of 'That' which is beyond reason and sight but accessible only through experiential knowledge.

How to worship the Sun God?

This is one of the ways to worship the sun god which is easier and effective for the modern people who go through hectic working hours and for those who don't have time to sit and do meditation for long hours. Meditation never worked for me, you cannot do meditation and gain something in a busy area like New York, Tokyo or any other capital cities and hence people travel to Himalayas to lose all contacts from the people around them to find a lonely and a silent place for personal investigation.

There is no need to travel anywhere to know god giving up your loved one's, god is personal and he will reveal himself to you where ever you are if you're preparing yourself to see him. Many people in the west and across the world perform yoga just for the sake of keeping their body fit and healthy but they don't realize that these are the same methods which was used by the sages of ancient traditions to have revelations about god, they were gnostic theists, they believed that the absolute truth or god can be known.

One has to pray the following verse in the begining of the method.

hiranmayena patrena satyasyapihitam mukham
tat tvam pushannya apavrino satya-dharmaya drishtaye

Isha Upanishad, Verse 15 from the scripture

It means that the truth is hidden behind God's pleroma of light rays and those light rays are preventing us from seeing him clearly and the ultimate truth, so we should plead him to remove those impeding light rays and show us the path of righteousness
